You are surrounded by an array of hazards in the air you breath and may not even know it. Day in and day out, you breath non-stop from birth until death, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Breathing clean air is vital to your health. Your physical body is capable of capturing some of the contaminates in the air but not all of them. And depending on how you treat your physical body will determine your body’s ability to capture contaminates. For example, your lungs are lined with little hair-like structures that sweep particulate matter out of the airway. Smoking damages the hairs, consequently, the contaminates from smoking enter the lungs that can generate a number of health ailments. Granted, in everyday life, you may not be able to control the levels of particulate matter that’s in your breathing zone; however, you can control whether you smoke or not and promote healthy lungs.
